Rumour: Wonder Woman plot details and potential cameo

October 24, 2015 by Gary Collinson

With production expected to get underway next month on Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice star Gal Gadot’s first solo movie as the Amazon Princess, the chaps at Joblo have posted what they claim to be details of the plot for the Wonder Woman movie, as well as a potential surprise cameo. If true, major spoilers follow, so you may want to stop reading if you don’t want to know…

Firstly, the report backs up earlier rumours that the film will take place in two different time periods, namely World War I and present day (albeit a few months before Batman v Superman), and that both Circe and Ares will be the main villains. Ares is said to employ an army of beasts “described as red or green demonic monsters with horns and wings that will be sent to kill Wonder Woman at some point in the film”, while Circe will “take on the form of a Chimera-like monster during her final battle with Wonder Woman.”

As for the plot, the site claims that: “The very basics of the plot follow Diana/Wonder Woman and Steve Trevor in modern day trying to stop Circe, who is manipulating high-level government men into starting World War III with the help of Ares. At some point she will explain to Trevor about her first battle with Ares during World War I, where she defeated him. Whether or not this is told in flashback or shown early on in the film is unclear, although it’s said that the majority of the film will be set in modern day, so don’t expect an even split between those timelines.”

Now, as for the potential cameo. See if you can guess. It’s a Justice League member…

…Yes, it is of course Ben Affleck’s Batman, who “is said to appear in the film when Diana fights Ares’ winged demonic minions, watching her save civilian lives during the battle [and] after the film’s finale, Batman will approach Wonder Woman in some regard to let her know he is aware of her, establishing a relationship that leads to her involvement in BVS.”

So, between Suicide Squad and Wonder Woman, it is really starting to look like Anghus Houvouras was right and the key ingredient for the DC universe is to just add Batman.

Oh, and the Invisible Jet will apparently make an appearance too…
