Rumoured Venom 2 plot details on Carnage and Shriek’s roles in the sequel

February 1, 2020 by Gary Collinson

As filming continues on Sony’s Venom 2, some alleged plot details from the Andy Serkis-directed superhero sequel have surfaced online via HN Entertainment, which – if true – offer some insight into the plot of the film, as well as the roles of its two villain Cletus Kasady/Carnage (Woody Harrelson) and Frances Louise Barrison/Shriek (Naomie Harris).

According to the site, the film will open with Kasady incarcerated in the Ravencroft Institute For The Criminally Insane where he is awaiting execution for multiple murders, with Barrison a fellow inmate. Eddie Brock (Tom Hardy) meanwhile is investigating Kasady’s past, and discovers that he was responsible for burning down an orphanage as a child, killing twelve people in the process.

With Eddie’s journalism career boosted by his expose, he soon finds he has a target on his back when Kasady escapes the Ravencroft Institute with help from Barrison and sets out for his revenge (backed up, presumably at this point, by the Carnage symbiote).

Venom 2 is currently shooting in the UK, but is expected to return to San Francisco, California to shoot exterior scenes, at which point we’ll presumably find ourselves inundated with set photos.

Venom 2 is set for release on October 2nd, 2020 and sees Andy Serkis (Mowgli: Legend of the Jungle) directing returning cast members Tom Hardy (Eddie Brock/Venom), Michelle Williams (Anne Weying) and Woody Harrelson (Cletus Kasady/Carnage) alongside new additions Naomie Harris (No Time To Die) and Stephen Graham (The Irishman).
