Runescape’s Elite Dungeons trilogy conclusion Shadow Reef arrives

February 26, 2019 by Andrew Newton

Runescape‘s Elite Dungeons trilogy has been an epic adventure so far but the fun and excitement continues as Jagex announce the arrival of the trilogy’s third and final chapter, Shadow Reef.  With the concluding chapter of the Elite Dungeons storyline seasoned adventurers will encounter The Ambassador in the ancient sunken temple of Ulthven Kreath.  Jagex has released a brand new trailer showing off the underwater realm, see below…

As with the previous two chapters of Elite Dungeons, Shadow Reef will include an engaging story mode option where players will face enemies with reduced health and combat strength so they are able to focus on the chapter’s narrative.  However, in this mode only the bosses will give reward drops.

Dave Osborne, RuneScape’s lead designer, said “Last summer, we created Elite Dungeons to combine engaging storylines with raid-like dungeon experiences. The Shadow Reef brings that questline to an epic conclusion, as players uncover the secrets beneath the inky waters of Gielinor, and experience an unforgettable encounter with The Ambassador, which will push players to the limit, whether adventuring as a team or solo…. We know that The Shadow Realm appeals to a wide variety of RuneScape players, whether that’s the ‘skillers’ who are looking to level up their combat skills, the ‘questers’ who love delving into adventures, or the ‘challengers’ – players that are seeking to overcome the dangerously deadly dungeon, to secure the best rewards possible in the fastest time possible.”

The previous Elite Dungeons, The Temple of Aminishi and Dragonkin Laboratory, were both released last summer.

If you feel up to the challenge, log into Runescape now and take on The Ambassador.
