This was likely never in doubt, but according to Heroic Hollywood, Ryan Reynolds has now officially closed his deal to reprise the role of the Merc with a Mouth for 20th Century Fox’s Deadpool sequel.
Deadpool 2 was announced prior to the release of the first movie, with Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese once again writing the script, but Fox did not have an option on its lead star to return, nor director Tim Miller.
With Deadpool having grossed over $750 million worldwide, Reynolds will likely have received a major raise from the $2 million upfront that he reportedly earned for the first movie.
Deadpool 2 is currently without a release date.
