Sci-fi survival mining RPG Cosminers revealed with announcement trailer

February 13, 2025 by Andrew Newton

Gravity Rifters has announced their new upcoming title Cosminers will be coming to Steam in early 2026 and there’s a good chance there will be a demo arriving in August.  This upcoming title will invite players to mine for resources in the inhospitable environment of an alien planet.

Cosminers is a blend of several genres, with survival, simulator, first-person shooters, resource management, tower defence and roguelite elements.  Players will take the position of a miner on an alien planet but will also need to build their base, manage their food and rest and ensuring there are sufficient defences for the nightly alien monster attacks.

Players won’t need to exploit this alien world on their own either, as they will be able to join up to three other players in exploring, extracting materials and surviving together.

As players explore, they will discover more and more resources that can be harvested and stored to fulfil the contract. There will also be treasures hidden beneath the surface of the planet that will help unlock new gameplay opportunities.

Cosminers will feature:

  • Survive the basics by managing food, health, water and oxygen.
  • Dig deep and obtain raw materials from a procedurally generated world.
  • Discover hidden artefacts and technologies that will allow access to new abilities in subsequent games.
  • Build, upgrade, defend and repair a base.
  • Use defence turrets to defend against aliens, or take pleasure in eliminating them yourself.
  • Play alone or in a team of up to 4 friends.

Look out for more news on Cosminers arriving in the future.
