SDCC: Halle Berry keen for a Storm spin-off X-Men film

July 10, 2015 by Scott J. Davis

With 20th Century Fox’s big panel coming up over the weekend – where we may see our first glimpses of Bryan Singer’s upcoming X-Men sequel, X-Men: Apocalypse – former X-Woman Halle Berry said that she would love to reprise her role as Storm, perhaps in her own film.

Speaking at her SDCC panel for CBS drama Extant on Thursday, Berry was asked about the future for her X-Men character, and said she would gladly don the lycra one more time in a stand-alone Storm feature.

“Absolutely!” said Berry, (via Variety). “Fans have to tell Fox that that’s what they want to have happen!”

The Oscar-winning actress has featured in four X-Men films so far, most recently in last summer’s X-Men: Days of Future Past, which could be her last as the shift in timelines and setting means that we will be seeing a younger version of Storm in Apocalypse, played by Alexandra Shipp.

Whether or not we see a Storm film remains to be seen, but with Hugh Jackman hanging up his claws after Apocalypse and a third and final Wolverine film, there may yet be space for another spin-off. Do you think a Storm film is a worthwhile idea? As ever, let us know your thoughts in the comments section below, and stay tuned to Flickering Myth for all the latest news from San Diego this weekend.
