Shane Black’s The Predator script said to have a “wicked sense of humour”

April 12, 2017 by Samuel Brace

Shane Black’s screenplay for his upcoming take on The Predator franchise is said to have “a wicked sense of humour”, according to one of the film’s stars.

Predator seems to be one of those series, like Terminator or Alien, that we will always go back to — either with original directors feeling the urge to continue what they started, or new talents coming along to try their hand.

There is a lot of positivity surrounding Shane Black’s attempt, with his movies known for their sharp wit and dynamic energy.

Well it seems his take on Predator won’t be any different, as star Sterling K. Brown has spoken to EW about the humour found in Black’s script.

“Shane has his whole take on it and it’s very different than the original Predator. It’s got a really wicked sense of humour to it, which I love about it. And it’s got a real camaraderie amongst the main characters that I think folks will be attracted to. That’s pretty much all I can say.”

This will certainly be good news to fans of Black, who will no doubt be keen to see him continue his typical style. Whether it will mesh with the Predator franchise however will remain to be seen.

The Predator is currently set for a February 9th, 2018 release and features a cast that includes Boyd Holbrook (Logan), Trevante Rhodes (Moonlight), Thomas Jane (The Punisher), Augusto Aguilera (The Fifth Man), Jacob Tremblay (Room) Sterling K. Brown (This is Us, The People v. O.J. Simpson), Keegan-Michael Key (Key & Peele), Olivia Munn (X-Men: Apocalypse), Alfie Allen (Game of Thrones), Yvonne Strahovski (Chuck), Edward James Olmos (Battlestar Galactica) and Jake Busey (From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series).
