Sonic and Tails will be playable in Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania

August 12, 2021 by Andrew Newton

SEGA has announced that the beloved duo that is Sonic and Tails will be joining the monkey gang of Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania as playable characters.  The two speedy heroes will be able to be unlocked through normal gameplay when the game arrives on all platforms on 5th October.  Watch Sonic in the trailer below…

Sonic The Hedgehog and Tails’ appearance in Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania is a special birthday collaboration celebrating Sonic’s 30th anniversary and Super Monkey Ball’s 20th.  This collaboration will find the pair sporting classic character models that honour their historic legacy that has lasted decades.

Both Sonic and Tails will be playable in all of the game’s 300+ levels and instead of collecting bananas as they speed through the game’s wonderful worlds, the pair will collect…… you guessed it, rings!

Sonic and Tails will be joining an all-star cast, which includes the recently revealed Beat from Jet Set Radio, and there will be more special guests announced soon.  All guest playable characters will be able to be unlocked during normal play.

Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania launches on 5th October on Xbox, Playstation, Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam. Check back soon for more reveals of special guests.
