Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi gets a brief new synopsis

March 24, 2022 by Amie Cranswick

With just over two months to go until Disney+ takes us back to the galaxy far, far away, a new synopsis has surfaced online for Lucasfilm’s latest live-action series which briefly teases what we can expect when Ewan McGregor dons the Jedi robes once again for Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi.

“During the reign of the Galactic Empire, former Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi embarks on a crucial mission. Kenobi must confront allies turned enemies and face the wrath of the Empire.”

The synopsis doesn’t really offer anything new, as we already know that the series is set to feature a rematch between Kenobi and his fallen apprentice Darth Vader, with Hayden Christensen back in the suit as he reprises his Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith role as the Dark Lord of the Sith.

Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi is being directed by Deborah Chow (The Mandalorian), with McGregor joined in the cast by Hayden Christensen (Darth Vader), Joel Edgerton (Owen Lars) and Bonnie Piesse (Beru Lars), as well as Star Wars newcomers Moses Ingram, Kumail Nanjiani, Indira Varma, Rupert Friend, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Sung Kang, Simone Kessell, Maya Erskine, Benny Safdie and Grant Feely.

Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi will premiere on May 25th, the 45th anniversary of Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope.
