Stargirl casts Tim Gabriel as Obsidian for season 3

March 29, 2022 by Ricky Church

The CW’s Stargirl has filled out one of its important roles for the upcoming third season as according to EW, Tim Gabriel (Why Women Kill) will play Todd Rice/Obsidian, the son of Green Lantern Alan Scott and twin brother to Jade.

Todd is described as LGBTQ and “wields ‘strange and uncontrollable’ shadow abilities. He’s been living on the streets and searching for his sister, but he falls into the hands of The Helix Institute for Youth Rehabilitation and the mysterious Mr. Bones (Keith David) — who showed up in the final moments of the season 2 finale teasing their impending arrival in Blue Valley — who are determined to understand Todd’s powers.”

A premiere date for the third season has not yet been announced, but it will likely arrive in mid – late summer as the previous seasons have done.

The CW drama series DC’S STARGIRL follows high school sophomore Courtney Whitmore (Brec Bassinger) and her stepfather Pat Dugan (Luke Wilson) as she leads an unlikely group of young heroes to take on the legacy of DC’s very first superhero team, the Justice Society of America. In the thrilling second season, Courtney and her friends take on one of the most frightening adversaries in DC’s mythology – the dark entity of corruption known as Eclipso.

Stargirl features a cast that includes Brec Bassinger as Stargirl, Yvette Monreal as Wildcat, Anjelika Washington as Dr. Mid-Nite, Cameron Gellman as Hourman, Trae Romano as Mike Dugan, Hunter Sansone as Cameron Mahkent, Meg DeLacy as Shiv, Amy Smart as Barbara Whitmore, Luke Wilson as Pat Dugan, Joel McHale as Starman, Mark Ashworth as Shining Knight, Joy Osmanski as Tigress, Jim Gaffigan as Thunderbolt, Neil Hopkins as Sportsmaster, John Wesley Shipp as Jay Garrick, Ysa Penarejo as Jade and Nick Tarabay as Eclipso.
