Stephen Amell says Arrow season 7 will introduce Oliver’s signature goatee and a new storytelling technique

May 27, 2018 by Gary Collinson

Following last week’s season finale, Arrow star Stephen Amell made an appearance at Motor City Comic Con where he told fans in attendance that he’ll be debuting Oliver Queen’s signature facial hair in the upcoming seventh season of the DC show.

“Just because you’ve been polite, and just because everyone has been so nice to me today, I can break some news for you and let you know that in Season Seven I am going to debut the goatee,” said Amell (via Comic Book), “I can’t promise that I’m going to keep [the goatee] forever. I can definitely promise that I’m not going to wear the stupid hat.”

Meanwhile, speaking to CinemaBlend, Amell also teased that season seven is going to make us of a new storytelling technique, although we can only speculate at this point as to what that might be:

“I think that it’s going to be…we can’t go bigger than we went last year, so we’re going more specific. . . . We are gonna introduce a new storytelling technique that I’m really excited about. All that I can say.”

And finally, TV Line has revealed that Arrow will be adding two new recurring characters in “an ambitious, young, anti-vigilante recruit at the SCPD” and “a successful tech whiz who is gay, and who harbors a heartbreaking past.”

Arrow will return to The CW for its seventh season later this year.
