Supergirl to use the Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman Daily Planet set?

March 17, 2015 by admin

Okay, so this could be a story of rampant speculation, but it could be a fun little Easter Egg for us fans.

Executive Producer Andrew Kreisberg, who is deep into the pilot episode of Supergirl for CBS, tweeted out a photo from the Warner Bros. back lot that indicates that they will be using a rather familiar location to fans of Superman. The set? The Daily Planet exterior from the much-maligned 90s TV show Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman.

Pretty familiar right? Check out the photos below from Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman:

As we said, this is nothing but speculation at this point. But knowing how the team behind Arrow and The Flash work with their Easter Eggs, it wouldn’t be that unlikely for this set to be used once again, even if it’s not for The Daily Planet. Plus, Dean Cain is in the show!

Based on the DC Comics character, the drama tells the story of Kara Zor-El, who was born on the planet Krypton, but escaped amid its destruction years ago. Since arriving on Earth, she’s been hiding the powers she shares with her famous cousin Superman. But now, at age 24, she decides to embrace her superhuman abilities and be the hero she was always meant to be.

Supergirl sees Melissa Benoist (Whiplash) joined in the cast by Chyler Leigh (Grey’s Anatomy) as Alexandra Danvers, Calista Flockhart (Ally McBeal) as Cat Grant, Laura Benanti (Nashville) as Alura Zor-El, David Harewood (Selfie) as Hank Henshaw, Mechad Brooks (Necessary Roughness) as Jimmy Olsen, Jeremy Jordan (The Last Five Years) as Winslow Schott, Faran Tahir (Iron Man) as The Commander and Dean Cain (Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman) and Helen Slater (Supergirl) in as-yet-unrevealed roles.
