Sylvester Stallone heading to the small screen for Taylor Sheridan’s Kansas City

December 7, 2021 by Matt Rodgers

Sylvester Stallone might currently be filming the kind of big-budget franchises you’d associate with one of Hollywood’s most iconic actors, what with The Expendables 4 and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3. in production, but it appears that the legendary actor is now set to flex his acting muscles on the small screen for Taylor Sheridan’s Paramount+ series Kansas City.

According to Deadline the Rocky actor is in negotiations to star in and exec produce Kansas City, a drama series from Hell or High Water‘s Taylor Sheridan and The Sopranos writer/producer Terence Winter for Paramount+.

Kansas City tells the story of New York City Italian mobster, played by Stallone, who’s forced to relocate to the most unlikely of places—Kansas City, Missouri. Set in present day, legendary mobster Sal (Sylvester Stallone) is faced with the startling task of re-establishing his Italian mafia family to the modernized, straight-shooting town of Kansas City. There, Sal encounters surprising and unsuspecting characters who follow him along his unconventional path to power.

The series will be produced by 101 Studios, the company behind Sheridan’s multitude of critically acclaimed series – Yellowstone, Mayor of Kingstownand1883, and MTV Entertainment Studios.

Stallone has proven time and time again that he has weighty dramatic chops with the likes of Cop Land and Creed, so to see him in long-form scripted television is quite an exciting prospect. Let us know if you agree by heading over to our social channels @FlickeringMyth…
