Taron Egerton and Ansel Elgort join Billionaire Boys Club

November 1, 2015 by Gary Collinson

Variety is reporting that rising stars Taron Egerton (Kingsman: The Secret Service) and Ansel Elgort (The Fault in Our Stars) are set to star in Billionare Boys Club, which is set to be directed by James Cox.

Based on a true story, the film will see Elgort as financial genius Joe Hunt and Egerton as tennis pro Dean Karny, whose 1980s investment pool – dubbed the Billionaire Boys Club – saw them amassing huge wealth, but ultimately led to murder.

“We’ve loved this project from the moment we first read it,” states executive producer Chris Lemole. “Now that it has this dynamic cast it’s going to be something truly special. We couldn’t be more excited to be a part of it.”

The story was previously brought to the screen in 1987 with a two-part TV movie starring Judd Nelson and Brian McNamara.
