Taylor Kitsch offered The Raid remake

August 5, 2014 by Gary Collinson

According to The Wrap, Taylor Kitsch (John Carter, Friday Night Lights) has been offered the lead role in the upcoming English-language remake of The Raid from Screen Gems.

The remake of Gareth Evans’ martial arts epic has been written by Brad Ingelsby (Run All Night), with Patrick Hughes (The Expendables 3) set to direct. It will reportedly stick closely to the plot of the Indonesian original, which centres on a SWAT team member who has to fight his way out of a tower block filled with ruthless mobsters.

The site reports that Kitsch – who is also in line for one of the leads in HBO’s True Detective – is yet to reach a deal with Screen Gems, with the financial aspects of the deal yet to be agreed upon.

Would you like to see Taylor Kitsch taking on the lead in The Raid remake? Let us know your thoughts…
