After being resurrected from its third season ending for another go around, Apple TV’s beloved dramedy Ted Lasso is returning next week and the streamer has released the official trailer for the anticipated fourth season.
Jason Sudeikis reprises his iconic role as Ted Lasso, a former American football coach who took a job in England as AFC Richmond’s new football coach. Returning with Sudeikis from the original series is Hannah Waddingham, Juno Temple, Brett Goldstein, Brendan Hunt and Jeremy Swift.
The fourth season will see Ted come back to Richmond to coach their new women’s team. The idea was teased in the final moments of Ted Lasso‘s finale as Juno Temple’s Keely presented her pitch to Waddingham’s Rebecca. New additions to the cast include Tanya Reynolds, Jude Mack, Faye Marsay, Rex Hayes, Aisling Sharkey, Abbie Hern and Grant Feely. There is no word if any other original stars or the male football players will also return.
In Season 4, Ted returns to Richmond, taking on his biggest challenge yet: coaching a second division women’s football team. Throughout the course of the season, Ted and the team learn to leap before they look, taking chances they never thought they would. In the trail, Ted can be seen embracing this challenge but, unsurprisingly, there are bumps along the way.
Ted Lasso season four premieres August 5th.
