Tentative new release dates for Christopher Nolan’s Tenet reportedly revealed

July 21, 2020 by Samuel Brace

Warner Bros. is intending to release Tenet earlier in international markets with some new working release dates reported.

News that Tenet, the new sci-fi film from director Christopher Nolan, had been delayed yet again and this time with no new date in mind, was frustrating, to say the least.

Fans are eager to see what Nolan has cooked up with his time-bending thriller but the inability of cinemas to re-open in the US has been the main obstacle.

Fortunately, Warner Bros. is not intending to release the film on a global day-and-date release and intends to bring Tenet to countries outside America first.

When might this be? Well, Steven Zeitchik, an entertainment writer for The Washington Post, is reporting that overseas territories could be seeing the film as early as August: “The latest working dates within Warner Bros for Tenet, I’m hearing, is Aug 26 overseas and Labor Day weekend in the U.S.”

That is certainly positive news. Hopefully, these dates are confirmed by WB soon. Labor Day is in early September so that wouldn’t be too long for US audiences to wait either. But unless America can reopen theaters safely by that time, it will have to wait even longer.

Armed with only one word – Tenet – and fighting for the survival of the entire world, the Protagonist journeys through a twilight world of international espionage on a mission that will unfold in something beyond real-time. Not time travel. Inversion.

Tenet sees Christopher Nolan directing a cast that includes John David Washington, Robert Pattinson, Elizabeth Debicki, Dimple Kapadia, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Clémence Poésy, Michael Caine, and Kenneth Branagh.
