The Fight Rages On in trailer for Max’s City of God sequel series

Max has released a trailer for City of God: The Fight Rages On, the upcoming Brazilian drama series which is set two decades after the events of Fernando Meirelles and Kátia Lund’s acclaimed 2002 crime drama City of God.

The series sees the return of Alexandre Rodrigues, Thiago Martins, Roberta Rodrigues, Sabrina Rosa, Kiko Marques, and Edson Oliveira, alongside new cast members Andréia Horta, Marcos Palmeira, Jefferson Brasil, Eli Ferreira, Luellem de Castro, Otávio Linhares, Rafael Lozano, Leandro Daniel, and Luiz Bertazzo. CITY OF GOD: THE FIGHT RAGES ON is an adapted continuation of the literary work by Paulo Lins, and will follow the story of its characters, starting with the work of the photographer Rocket. Set in the early 2000s, the series includes excerpts from the film as flashbacks to reconstruct the protagonists’ memories.

City of God: The Fight Rages On premieres on Max on August 25th.
