The Karate Kid casts Wyatt Oleff and Aramis Knight

April 4, 2024 by Ricky Church

Deadline reports that the new Karate Kid film has added Wyatt Oleff (It) and Aramis Knight (Ms. Marvel) to its cast.

Their roles are being kept under wraps for the time being. The new film will focus on Ben Wang (American Born Chinese) with Ralph Macchio reprising his Karate Kid and Cobra Kai role as Danny La Russo alongside Jackie Chan will returns as the remake’s Mr. Han, merging the original series and the remake together for the first time.

Also starring in The Karate Kid is Joshua Jackson (The Affair), Ming-Na Wen (The Book of Boba Fett) and Sadie Stanley (The Goldbergs).

The new Karate Kid will bring the franchise to the East Coast, focusing on a teen from China (Wang) who finds strength and direction via martial arts and a tough but wise mentor (or two).

Sony’s Karate Kid is directed by Jonathan Entwistle (I’m Not Okay With This) from a script by Rob Lieber (Peter Rabbit).

The Karate Kid comes just as Cobra Kai will conclude its six season run on Netflix with the final season currently filming.

The Karate Kid will be released December 13th, 2025.
