Lionsgate has released a poster and trailer for writer-director Leigh Scott’s dark take on Hans Christian Andersen’s classic tale The Little Mermaid.
The horror follows Dr. Eric Prince, an archaeologist who falls for a mysterious woman resembling a mermaid while searching for proof of an advanced prehistoric society on a small Caribbean island.
The film stars Mike Markoff, Jeff Denton, Samuel Selman, Sean-Michael Argo, Winston Crooke, Steven Yniguez, Manon Laurent, and Lydia Helen. Watch the trailer below…
After archeologist Dr. Eric Prince and his students uncover an ancient pagan temple in the depths of the Caribbean, Eric falls for a mysterious woman who resembles a mermaid he and his team encountered at sea. As their relationship intensifies, she leads Eric deeper into her evil underwater world until he must choose between true love and the destruction of all humanity.
The Little Mermaid is set for a digital release on December 17th.
