The Toxic Avenger reboot will star Game of Thrones actor Peter Dinklage in the titular role alongside Doctor Sleep‘s Jacob Tremblay, Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom‘s Taylour Paige, The Lord of the Rings star Elijah Wood, Gavin & Stacey‘s Julia Davis, and Kevin Bacon as the main villain.

Macon Blair will helm the reboot for Legendary Entertainment which sees the original The Toxic Avenger creators Lloyd Kaufman and Michael Herz returning for the project as producers.

The Toxic Avenger reboot is described as a “contemporary reimagining” of the original 1984 low-budget action-comedy film, which will follow a “struggling everyman who, when pushed into a vat of toxic waste, is transformed into a mutant freak who must go from shunned outcast to underdog hero as he races to save his son, his friends, and his community from the forces of corruption and greed.”
