Doctor Who: The Twelfth Doctor Chronicles – You Only Die Twice delivers three new audio adventures

March 27, 2024 by Andrew Newton

Big Finish Productions has today released a brand-new box set of audio adventures for the Twelfth Doctor as part of Doctor Who – The Twelfth Doctor Chronicles. Titled You Only Die Twice, this new box set sees the Twelfth Doctor recruited by the Time Agency to confront their greatest threat.

This latest box set in The Twelfth Doctor Chronicles is set during the 2017 TV series with the Doctor disguised as a university professor. It’s not long before the Time Agency arrives to take him on a new mission, one that only he can complete. The three new adventures in this box set are:

Sunstrike by Georgia Cook

The Quartermaster sells his weapons to whoever can pay his prices resulting in the conquest of millions of worlds and billions of lives lost.  His private resort has cost him trillions of credits, which has kept him safe from the Time Agency’s justice.  As part of Keira Sanstrom (played by Bhavnisha Parmar) plan, can the Doctor (played by Jacob Dudman) play the part of a despicable villain convincingly enough?

Never The End Is by Ben Tedds

Thousands of pilgrims seek absolution every day at the Basilica of Mariazell. There’s the painter who sees the most unimaginable things, or the woman who remembers people she has never met or known. There are also the Time Agents trapped in the town that time forgot. Unfortunately for Christoph Haizmann, there will be no absolution after he made a deal that the Devil has now come to collect.

You Only Die Twice by Fio Trethewey

The Doctor has always been able to handle everything that has been thrown at him, but this time it’s personal.

From the left Nicholas Asbury (Belias_Robel), Georgina Beedle (Elinor), Jacob Dudman (The Doctor), Bhavnisha Parmar (Keira Sanstrom), Jack Forsyth-Noble (Christoph), Richard Braine (Meitinger)

Jacob Dudmanplays the role of the Twelfth Doctor and is joined by guest voice actors Clare Corbett (Spitting Image), Robert Daws (The Royal), Georgina Beedle (Catherine the Great) and Nicholas Asbury (Alma’s Not Normal).

Script editor Max Kashevsky said “We’re so happy that Jake (Jacob Dudman) agreed to come back as the Twelfth Doctor for this last box set. Every time he comes through that door, he gets better and better. He totally gets this Doctor. All three of these stories were precision engineered to push Jake to his limits as a performer, and he really took it on.”

Doctor Who – The Twelfth Doctor Chronicles: You Only Die Twice is available to purchase now from Big Finish Productions as a collector’s edition CD box set for £22.99 or as a digital download for £18.99.
