Deadline is reporting that USA Network has placed a pilot order for Unsolved, a true crime serial from director and executive producer Anthony Hemingway (The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story).
The project has been written by Kyle Long (Suits) and is based upon former LAPD Detective Greg Kading’s book Murder Rap: The Untold Story of Biggie Smalls & Tupac Shakur Murder Investigations. As you’d expect from that title, the drama will explore the police investigations into the unsolved murders of the two rap stars, with Kading serving as as consultant on the script for the pilot, as well as co-executive producing.
Hemingway was nominated for an Emmy for his directing work on The People v. O.J. Simpson, and also shared the Outstanding Limited Series Emmy. He has also worked on the likes of The Wire, CSI: NY, Criminal Minds, Treme and Empire.
