Watch Jason Voorhees’ return in Sweet Revenge short film

August 14, 2025 by Gary Collinson

It’s not quite the grand feature film return that fans have been waiting for just yet, but Friday the 13th fans can still rejoice as Jason Voorhees shakes himself free of the franchise’s myriad of legal issues that have left him chained to the bottom of Crystal Lake for the past 16 years to extract his Sweet Revenge in a short film/vignette under the recently-launched Jason Universe banner.

Launching today via the Jason Universe YouTube channel in celebration of the iconic horror franchise’s 45th anniversary, the short film marks Jason’s first official outing since the 2009 Platinum Dunes reboot and is directed by fledgling horror reboot specialist Mike P. Nelson (Wrong Turn, Silent Night, Deadly Night), with Schuyler White (Haunt) taking on the role of the masked killer alongside Ally Ioannides (Into the Badlands) as the latest final girl Eve. Enjoy…
