Winds of Magic expansion blows on to Warhammer: Vermintide 2 on Xbox One

December 21, 2019 by Andrew Newton

Xbox One adventurers to the Warhammer world face a whole new bestial enemy and set of challenges as Fatshark announce the release of the Winds of Magic expansion.

This first expansion for Warhammer: Vermintide 2 on the Xbox One introduces the new Beastmen faction.  These grotesque creatures are evil, bloodthirsty beings that have been warped by Chaos to become hybrids of man and beast.  In battle these beasts will use their claws, teeth and horns as well as weaponry to kill and maim their victims, they show no compassion or mercy and will spare no living soul that crosses their path.

The Winds of Magic expansion brings a whole new chapter to challenge players with as a meteor crashes down in the heart of the Reikland and drives the surrounding herds of Beastmen into a frenzy as they rush to claim it as a Herdstone.  It is up to players to take control of their heroes and stop this new threat before it spells doom for the Reikland.

The expansion also features:

  • Dark Omens new level –  Fight the powerful Beastmen together with friends.
  • Winds – New Game Mode
  • Raised level cap from 30 to 35.
  • New Talents
  • New weapons for all heroes – Kerillian gains a shield and spear, Sienna can utilise a flaming flail, a new set of throwing axes for Bardin, Saltzpyre now has a billhook, and Kruber can now use a heavy spear.
  • New Cataclysm difficulty level.

“We are happy to bring the Winds of Magic expansion to our Xbox One players, and have them join the fight against the Beastmen.” says Martin Wahlund, CEO Fatshark.

The Winds of Magic expansion is available now on Xbox One.
