Wonder Woman 1984 tops poll of most anticipated movies of 2020

As 2019 draws to a close, ticketing service Fandango has announced the results of its annual poll to determine the most anticipated movies of the coming year, with the 2020 list led by Warner Bros. and DC Films’ Gal Gadot-headlined sequel Wonder Woman 1984.

The Patty Jenkins-directed superhero blockbuster is one of two DC movies in the list for 2020, the other being Birds of Prey (And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn), while Marvel’s two 2020 offerings Black Widow and Eternals claim second and third place respectively.

Here’s the full top ten, via Fandango:

1. Wonder Woman 1984 – June 5th
2. Black Widow – May 1st
3. Eternals – November 6tj
4. Mulan – March 27th
5. No Time to Die – April 10th
6. A Quiet Place Part II – March 20th
7. Birds of Prey – February 7th
8. In the Heights – June 26th
9. Soul – June 19th
10. Fast & Furious 9 – May 22nd

Wonder Woman 1984 reunites director Patty Jenkins with stars Gal Gadot (Diana Prince), Chris Pine (Steve Trevor), Ewen Bremner (Charlie), Said Taghmaoui (Sameer), Connie Nielsen (Queen Hippolyta), Robin Wright (General Antiope), Lisa Loven Kongsli (Menalippe), Doutzen Kroes (Venelia) and new additions Kristen Wiig (Ghostbusters) as Barbara Ann Minerva/Cheetah, Pedro Pascal (Game of Thrones) as Maxwell Lord, and Natasha Rothwell (Love, Simon), Ravi Patel (Master of None, Grandfathered) and Gabriella Wilde (Doctor Who, Poldark) in as-yet-unrevealed roles. It is set for release on June 5th 2020.
