Zach Galifianakis, Levi Miller, Andre Holland, Deric McCabe and Michael Pena join A Wrinkle in Time

November 2, 2016 by Gary Collinson

Disney and director Ava DuVernay have rounded out the cast of their upcoming fantasy A Wrinkle in Time, with Zach Galifianakis, Levi Miller, Andre Holland and Deric McCabe joining the previously announced Storm Reid, Oprah Winfrey, Reese Witherspoon, Mindy Kaling and Chris Pine.

“Since Day One, this experience has shimmered with the promise and possibility, the passion and power that only great stories offer,” said DuVernay (via Variety). “And Madeleine L’Engle’s book is a great story indeed. A cool, quirky tale of an imperfect girl on an otherworldly expedition that has been praised and banned, dissected and celebrated the world over for more than 50 years. On behalf of all the filmmakers, artists and craftspeople in our Wrinkle in Time family, we are genuinely thrilled by and truly grateful for the opportunity to make this film together.”

UPDATE: Michael Pena has also been added to the cast, where he’ll play a character called Red, who may be one of the book’s villains, described as “the man with red eyes.

A Wrinkle in Time has been scripted by Jennifer Lee (Frozen) and follows young Meg Murray, who along with her brother and his friend, sets off on a fantastic voyage to search for Meg’s scientist father, who has disappeared after experimenting with time travel.
