Zack Snyder announces that filming has wrapped on Army of the Dead: The Prequel

December 26, 2020 by Gary Collinson

Although we haven’t seen so much as a trailer for Zack Snyder’s upcoming zombie action thriller Army of the Dead, the filmmaker has taken to social media to announce that filming has now wrapped on the creatively titled prequel film Army of the Dead: The Prequel.

Army of the Dead: The Prequel is directed by Matthias Schweighöfer (The Manny), who also reprises his role as Ludwig Dieter from Snyder’s Army of the Dead, while – as we can see from the above cast photo – also stars Guz Khan (Four Weddings and a Funeral), Nathalie Emmanuel (Game of Thrones), Stuart Martin (Jamestown) and Ruby O. Fee (Polar).

Along with Army of the Dead: The Prequel, Netflix has also ordered an Army of the Dead spinoff anime series entitled Army of the Dead: Lost Vegas, which will feature a voice cast that includes Joe Manganiello (Justice League), Christian Slater (Mr. Robot), Vanessa Hudgens (Tick Tick… Boom!) Harry Lennix (The Blacklist), Anya Chalotra (The Witcher), Ross Butler (13 Reasons Why), Jena Malone (Antebellum), Yetide Badaki (American Gods), Christina Wren (Man of Steel), Monica Barbaro (The Good Cop) and Nolan North (Star Trek: Lower Decks) as well as Army of the Dead stars Dave Bautista (Stuber), Ella Purnell (Sweetbitter), Omari Hardwick (Power), Tig Notaro (Star Trek: Discovery) and Ana de la Reguera (Power).
