Zack Snyder want his Justice League cut to have some sort of theatrical release

November 18, 2020 by Samuel Brace

Zack Snyder, the director of Justice League, says that he wants his cut of the film to not only come to HBO Max but to some cinemas too.

While fans are eagerly anticipating the release of Zack Snyder’s Justice League mini-series on HBO Max, many will surely be hoping they get to see it on the big screen.

While this isn’t the plan at the moment and with the pandemic it’s not too likely, Zack Snyder has voiced his own desire to see his cut of the film have some semblance of a theatrical release.

Speaking with Ping Pong Flix, the director said: “I love the movies, I love the theatrical experience, I’m a huge advocate. If it’s possible I would love there to be a theatrical component to Justice League.

“It’s a little above my pay grade as far as distribution. The reality is the way distribution works, Warner Bros. and HBO Max they have to make deals with all these different territories and there’s this super complicated process of how they sell the movie. But barring that and with any kind of luck, in places where maybe HBO Max doesn’t exist or something like that, there might be an opportunity to grab some IMAX screens.”

Whether Snyder gets his wish or not remains to be seen but it does seem likely that if you live in a territory where HBO Max is available, that is where you will be able to watch it.

In Justice League, fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.

Justice League is directed by Zack Snyder and features Henry Cavill as Superman, Ben Affleck as Batman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Ray Fisher as Cyborg, Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Ezra Miller as The Flash, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Jeremy Irons as Alfred Pennyworth, Diane Lane as Martha Kent, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Connie Nielsen as Queen Hippolyta, Robin Wright as General Antiope, J.K. Simmons as Commissioner Gordon, Amber Heard as Mera, Ciaran Hinds as Steppenwolf, Joe Manganiello as Deathstroke, Jared Leto as The Joker and Ray Porter as Darkseid.
