Zack Snyder’s Justice League will use Hans Zimmer’s Man of Steel theme and Junkie XL’s original score

July 9, 2020 by Samuel Brace

According to director Zack Snyder, his cut of Justice League will utilise Hans Zimmer’s Man of Steel piano theme.

Fans are finally getting their chance to see Zack Snyder’s intended vision for Justice League, with WB allowing the director to go back and make the film the cut he wished audiences to see before stepping away.

One of the changes will come with the film’s score, as Junkie XL will be scoring the movie instead of Danny Elfman who composed the music for Joss Whedon’s version.

This was confirmed during a fan Q&A (via Coming Soon), where someone asked Snyder: “We getting the Junkie XL score for Justice League?” Snyder responded in the affirmative: “F#$k yes!”

Snyder was also asked if Hans Zimmer’s piano theme for Man of Steel would make it into the film and the director confirmed this as well: “Of course, is there any other?”

Music has a huge power to change how a film is perceived so it will be interesting to see just how these changes transform Justice League. Hopefully, this will be just one component that gives the movie new life.

In Justice League, fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.

Justice League is directed by Zack Snyder and features Henry Cavill as Superman, Ben Affleck as Batman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Ray Fisher as Cyborg, Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Ezra Miller as The Flash, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Jeremy Irons as Alfred Pennyworth, Diane Lane as Martha Kent, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Connie Nielsen as Queen Hippolyta and Robin Wright as General Antiope, J.K. Simmons as Commissioner Gordon, Amber Heard as Mera, Ciaran Hinds as Steppenwolf and Ray Porter as Darkseid.
