Aaron Taylor-Johnson “confirmed” as Quicksilver in The Avengers: Age of Ultron

October 4, 2013 by admin

After yesterday’s confirmation from Samuel L. Jackson yesterday that Elizabeth Olsen (Martha Marcy May Marlene) will play Scarlet Witch, it seems the cast for Joss Whedon’s The Avengers: Age of Ultron is continuing to sweeten, as Latino-Review are claiming that Aaron Taylor-Johnson (Kick-Ass 2) is is confirmed to appear as Pietro Maximoff, a.k.a. Quicksilver.

A rumour appeared a few months back stating that this was the casting choice Marvel and Whedon wanted to make, while Taylor-Johnson has himself spoken about meeting with Marvel with regards to the character. The roster is still waiting on a confirmation from Marvel, who are traditionally quite hush-hush about confirming casting lists until production begins. There could still certainly be some surprises, but we’ll known the details soon enough.

It can only be a good thing that The Avengers: Age of Ultron is going for the much more classic, obscure, and diverse characters to add to its roster. I say this mainly in comparison to modern Avengers rosters, which mainly pack well-known heroes as opposed to much more defined and lesser-known characters.

The Avengers: Age of Ultron comes out May 1st 2015 with a cast that so far includes Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man), Chris Evans (Captain America), Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Mark Ruffalo (The Incredible Hulk), Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow), Jeremy Renner (Hawkeye) and Samuel L. Jackson (Nick Fury) alongside Olsen as Scarlet Witch and James Spader (The Blacklist) as Ultron.
