Dwayne Johnson teases a DC movie role in 2014

January 1, 2014 by admin

2013’s highest-grossing star Dwayne Johnson closed out the year last night with his annual ‘#RockTalk’ on Twitter, during which he teased a potential DC movie role, stating that: “We just had a big meeting w/ Warner Bros CEO re: DC Comics 2014 we will partner up and create the cool bad assery.”

Johnson has previously been attached to two DC movies at Warner Bros.; he was set to portray Black Adam in Peter Segal’s (Grudge Match) Shazam movie back in 2007, and more recently he was linked to Journey 2: The Mysterious Island helmer Brad Peyton’s planned adaptation of Lobo, before stating in February of last year that the project “kind of just went away.” Seeing as Peter Segal said last week that he doesn’t see the Shazam movie moving forward any time soon, there is the possibility that Warner Bros. plans to push on with Lobo, although currently the only DC project on the studio’s slate for production in 2014 is Zack Snyder’s Batman vs. Superman.

Considering the t-shirt worn by Johnson to promote his Q&A, could we be seeing The Rock joining the likes of Henry Cavill (Superman), Ben Affleck (Batman) and Gal Gadot (Wonder Woman) in the Man of Steel sequel? Or is this just a clever piece of self promotion? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below…
