We know that 20th Century Fox and Josh Trank intend on testing actors for the roles of The Fantastic Four in the upcoming reboot this week, but so far all of the casting news has revolved around Mister Fantastic, The Invisible Woman and The Human Torch. But what about The Thing?
Well, according to Movies.com Josh Gad (Frozen) is apparently Fox’s first choice to yell “IT’S CLOBBERING TIME!” as Ben Grimm, citing “casting circles close to the film” as its source. However, the site then goes on to to state that they try to “trace these types of rumous back to the point of origin when we can”, despite the fact that said report is actually the point of origin, so don’t be too surprised if this ones turns out just to be another baseless rumour.
Update – And according to Gad himself, it is just another baseless rumour, with the actor taking to Twitter to state that there’s no truth in the report.
The Fantastic Four is set for release on June 19th 2015 with Michael B. Jordan (Fruitvale Station) thought to be playing Johnny Storm, Miles Teller (The Spectacular Now) and Game of Thrones stars Kit Harington and Richard Madden said to be testing for Reed Richards, and Kate Mara (American Horror Story) and Saoirse Ronan (Hanna) up for Susan Storm.
