More from Karl Urban about a potential Dredd sequel

October 6, 2014 by Gary Collinson

Originally published October 6, 2014. Updated April 13, 2018.

Although it seems no closer to becoming a reality, Karl Urban has once again raised hopes for Dredd fans that we may one day see a sequel to the 2012 reboot by stating at Destination Stark Trek that people are “working very, very hard” to make Dredd 2 a reality…

“I’m incredibly proud of that film and it means a lot to me. And there are a lot of people working very, very hard to deliver a sequel because it is amazing how many people come up to me and say, ‘I really would like to see another installment of that film.’ I’m meeting with the filmmakers actually on this trip and there’s a lot of people trying to make it happen. If it does happen, it’s going to be phenomenal and if it’s just a one-off event, then so be it, but we’re trying.”

With the Make a Dredd Sequel Facebook page now up to over 100,000 likes after October 1st’s ‘Day of Dredd’, perhaps Urban and company will be able to convince the powers that be to give the green light to another outing for the Lawman of the Future…
