Rumour: Rebecca Ferguson wanted for Captain Marvel role

Get your pinch of salt ready, as Heroic Hollywood is reporting/guessing that Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation star Rebecca Ferguson tops Marvel’s hit list for the studio’s first female-led superhero movie, Captain Marvel.

Ferguson was recently in contention for another comic book role, but pulled out of the running for the female lead in Gambit in favour of Tate Taylor’s upcoming The Girl on the Train alongside Emily Blunt, another actress who has been heavily linked to the part of Carol Danvers.

Let’s hope this report is from a different Marvel source to the one who repeatedly told them Carol was in Avengers: Age of Ultron, right up to the point where we discovered she wasn’t…
