Sam Raimi would love to return to the Spider-Man franchise

October 30, 2015 by Gary Collinson

As Sony and Marvel prepare to relaunch Spider-Man with Captain America: Civil War and the subsequent 2017 solo reboot, Sam Raimi – director the original Spider-Man trilogy – has revealed that he’d love to return to the franchise.

Raimi, whose three Spider-Man films grossed almost $2.5 billion at the global box office, was talking to The Week about his new series Ash vs. Evil Dead, when he was asked about the wall-crawler.

“I messed up on the third one,” admitted Raimi. “I think they’re so complete now, Marvel. They probably don’t need me anymore. But if they needed me? I’d love to [return]. It’s great to be wanted.”
