It’s been expected that the fifth instalment of the Transformers franchise would reunite director Michael Bay with Transformers: Age of Extinction star Mark Wahlberg, and now the actor has confirmed to CinePop that he’ll be reprising the role of Cade Yeager in Transformers 5.

Transformers 5 is slated for release in 2017, with Art Marcum and Matt Halloway (Iron Man) and Ken Nolan (Black Hawk Down) penning the script. Meanwhil,e Hasbro and Paramount also have an animated Cybertron movie in development from screenwriters Andrew Barrer and Gabriel Ferrari (Ant-Man), as well as Transformers 6, Transformers 7 and Transformers 8.
