Mark Millar says Captain America: Civil War is “much the same” as the comic book

January 26, 2016 by admin

To this day, Marvel’s Civil War remains their biggest selling comic series of all-time (so big in fact, they’re doing it again). Written by Mark Millar, the feature film adaptation of the comic – Captain America: Civil War – is heading to cinema screens this April and there has been a lot of speculation and rumours about how close the film sticks to Millar’s original.

One person who knows is Mark Millar himself.

“It’s much the same,” Millar told Cineworld. “They’ve added characters they have the rights to as some of their characters are scattered around different studios, but the main players and their chief lieutenants in this thing are all the same.”

Just how close will the story stay? Well the original comic ends with The Death of Captain America, which has been rumoured ever since the title was announced. There have also been other rumours of multiple death scenes filmed and set photos of a funeral (although that appears to be for someone else).
