Deadpool screenwriters will have a hand in X-Force movie

February 27, 2016 by Gary Collinson

We already know that the Merc with a Mouth is set to return for a solo sequel which will feature the introduction of Cable, and it seems that 20th Century Fox is also looking to dust of its X-Force movie, with Deadpool screenwriters Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick revealing to The Playlist that they “will have a hand” in the project.

“We will have a hand in [X-Force],” states Wernick. “I think everything that Deadpool is involved in we will have a hand in and it’s a universe that Ryan Reynolds and us are very close to and very protective of, so I do think we would absolutely involved in that franchise as well. If it’s Deadpool related, I think you’ll see some of our fingerprints on that.”

An X-Force movie was first announced back in 2013, with Kick-Ass 2 helmer Jeff Wadlow penning the script, but was put on hold when Fox gave the green light to Deadpool. You can check out some concept art here.
