Futurama cancelled again

April 24, 2013 by admin

It looks as if Futurama will be coming to an end for the second time. Comedy Central confirmed that the second half of season seven, which starts in June and will officially end on September 4th, will be the show’s last season.

The show originally aired on Fox and ran from 1999 to 2003. After four straight-to-DVD movies, Comedy Central bought the rights to the show in 2009. Futurama will end its run will 140 total episodes over seven seasons.

While it was great to see this show come back it never quite hit the same notes that it did when it aired on Fox. Most of the new episodes were hit or miss and last year’s 13-episode run was the weakest batch the show has put out yet. That being said it’s still a shame to see this once great show get cancelled for a second time.
