Drew Goddard to direct Sony’s Spider-Man spin-off The Sinister Six

April 9, 2014 by Gary Collinson

Back in December Sony announced that it is to spin-off the main Amazing Spider-Man franchise with Venom and The Sinister Six, with Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci and Jeff Pinker signing on to write the symbiote’s solo movie, and Drew Goddard tackling villainous ensemble. Well, it’s now been revealed that Goddard will also handle directing duties when Spidey’s greatest foes join forces.

Goddard’s previous screenwriting credits include Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, Alias, Lost and Cloverfield, while he made his directorial debut in 2012 with The Cabin in the Woods. The Sinister Six is the second Marvel project that Goddard is attached to, having also signed on to write and executive producer Netflix’s upcoming Daredevil miniseries.
