Watch a clip from Black Sea featuring Scoot McNairy and Michael Smiley

Ahead of its release next week, Universal Pictures has debuted a new clip from the Jude Law-headlined submarine thriller Black Sea, which sees Scoot McNairy (Argo, Killing Them Softly) gets a wonderfully matter of fact assessment of the dangers of submarine life from Michael Smiley (Luther, Kill List). A suspenseful adventure thriller directed by Academy Award winner Kevin Macdonald, centering on a rogue submarine captain (two-time Academy Award nominee Jude Law) who pulls together a misfit crew to go after a sunken treasure rumored to be lost in the depths of the Black Sea. As greed and desperation take control onboard their claustrophobic vessel, the increasing uncertainty of the mission causes the men to turn on each other to fight for their own survival.

Black Sea is set for release on December 5th in the UK and January 23rd 2015 in the States, with a cast that also includes Ben Mendelsohn (Exodus: Gods and Kings), David Threlfall (Shameless), Jodie Whittaker (Broadchurch), Grigoriy Dobrygin (A Most Wanted Man) and Karl Davies (Game of Thrones).
