Ant-Man passes $200 million at the global box office

July 27, 2015 by admin

Despite being the second-lowest opening for a Marvel Cinematic Universe movie behind The Incredible Hulk, Ant-Man has managed to pass the $200 million mark in its second week of release.

The movie dropped 56% on its domestic opening weekend, but still topped the US box office with $24 million, beating out competition from Adam Sandler’s Pixels, Southpaw and Paper Towns. The movie passed the $100 million mark in just ten days domestically, and its global earnings of $120.4 million has pushed the movie past the $200 million milestone.

Ant-Man will face competition against Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation this coming weekend, but experts say that the movie is tracking low. So if it can maintain its current box office trend, it could make it three weeks at the top of the US box office.
