Max von Sydow to play the Three-Eyed Raven in Game of Thrones season 6

August 4, 2015 by Thomas Roach

After Ian McShane joined the cast of Game of Thrones this week in a mystery role, another new addition to the cast has been revealed, with Variety reporting that Max von Sydow is set to play the Three-Eyed Raven in season 6 of Game of Thrones.

The Three-Eyed Raven has appeared in Bran Stark’s visions since the first season and appeared in physical form at the end of season 4, played by Struan Rodger. As the character has now been recast with such an iconic screen legend, we can be sure this role is of pivotal importance in the upcoming season.

The sixth season of Game of Thrones is currently in production, and the show will return to HBO in the Spring.
