Will Smith replaces Hugh Jackman for Collateral Beauty

August 5, 2015 by Scott J. Davis

After news last broke last month that Hugh Jackman had left the upcoming project Collateral Beauty, The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that Will Smith has signed on to replace him in the film.

The film, which is directed by Alfonso Gomez-Rejon (Me and Earl and The Dying Girl), also stars Rooney Mara (Her) and tells the story of “a New York advertising exec (Smith) who experiences a deep personal tragedy. His colleagues devise an unconventional plan to break him out of his depression — which works — but not in a way that anyone imagined.” Jackman exited the film due to scheduling problems with his third and final outing as Logan in Wolverine 3.

Smith most recently starred in Focus with Margot Robbie, and will next be seen in Oscar-hopeful drama Concussion, which is released in the US on Christmas Day.
