T.H.U.N.D.E.R. Agents heading to the big screen

October 13, 2015 by Gary Collinson

During a panel at the New York Comic Con, Batman producer Michael Uslan announced that he’s teaming up with China’s Huayi Brothers Media to launch a new film franchise based upon the comic book series T.H.U.N.D.E.R. Agents.

First published by Tower Comics in 1965, the T.H.U.N.D.E.R. Agents (or The Higher United Nations Defense Enforcement Reserves) are an elite group who work for the United Nations and gain super abilities thanks to a host of hi-tech equipment.

“Taking into account such elements as the superhero concept, and the story of the United Nations agents, we believe that this IP on a global scale have to have great commercial value,” said James Wang, co-chief of Huayi. “It also creates the space that will allow us to integrate Chinese elements as co-productions.”
