The original Wasp spotted during Ant-Man’s sub-atomic sequence

May 13, 2016 by Luke Owen

Spoilers for Ant-Man

In last year’s Ant-Man, it was revealed at the end of the movie that Hope Van Dyne would follow in her mother’s footsteps and become The Wasp. We caught a glimpse of the original Wasp during the sequence where she and Ant-Man disarm a missile, but it seems the character was also featured during the climactic sequence of the movie.

In the climax of the movie when Ant-Man is facing off against Yellowjacket, Scott Lang goes sub-atomic – the same thing Janet Van Dyne did which led to her ‘death’. It’s during this trippy sequence where Lang continues to shrink for eternity that he seemingly passes Wasp. Check out the images below (via Imgur):

Once he is out of the sub-atomic state, Hank Pym asks Scott if he saw anything but he sadly can’t remember. What this does mean, however, is that Janet Van Dyne is alive and well – she’s just stuck and needs rescuing. One has to wonder if Hank will put become the Ant-Man one more time to find her when it comes to Ant-Man and The Wasp…

Ant-Man and the Wasp is set for release on July 6th 2018 and will see Peyton Reed return to direct Paul Rudd as Scott Lang/Ant-Man, Evangeline Lilly as Hope Van Dyne/The Wasp and Michael Douglas as Hank Pym.
