Tom Hanks returning to World War II for Greyhound

September 10, 2016 by Gary Collinson

It looks like Tom Hanks could be heading back to World War II, with Deadline reporting that the Saving Private Ryan star has written the script for Greyhound, which is being directed by Aaron Schneider (Get Low).

Greyhound will see Hanks as a career naval officer given the command of a destroyer, who along with the enemy fights his self doubts and personal demons to prove he belongs. The project will be funded by FilmNation.

Hanks can currently be seen in theaters in Sully, and has the Dan Brown adaptation Inferno set for release next month.
