Kevin Feige has no problem with Josh Brolin playing Thanos and Cable

April 19, 2017 by Robert Kojder

Following the surprise announcement that Josh Brolin would be playing the hardened and brutish sidekick Cable in Deadpool 2, a discussion came to light regarding the fact that the actor is now playing two different Marvel characters at the same time.

If you forgot, or somehow aren’t aware yet, Brolin has made a bunch of brief cameos in the MCU as Thanos, who will be the ultimate villain for the upcoming Avengers: Infinity War.

It’s worth remembering that although both characters are the property of Marvel, they do not exist within the same cinematic universe – a point highlighted by MCU chief Kevin Feige when speaking about the situation speaking to THR:

“We don’t have anything written into our contracts about other roles that people can do. Indiana Jones and Han Solo are the same person [and] it hasn’t been a problem. And I think Thanos and Cable are two very different characters.”
