Over the last couple of years, revivals of beloved television series from decades ago has seen a huge uptick with several networks. Between the revival of The X-Files, Will & Grace, Twin Peaks and most recently Roseanne, reviving old series has proven to be a fairly successful venture. Already Will & Grace has been renewed for an additional two seasons while Roseanne received very high ratings with its premiere and following episodes, leading ABC to renew it barely a week after the premiere aired.
One comedy that has come up in talks among fans is the Tina Fey-led series 30 Rock. Jane Krakowski, who starred as the narcissistic, attention-seeking diva Jenna Maroney in the show, revealed to The Hollywood Reporter that discussions on 30 Rock‘s return have seemingly taken place.
“A revival would be a dream come true. We all had the greatest time on that show,” Krakowski said. “There’s definitely been talk and conversations. I know it’s something the fans would love and we would love. We all say over and over again that working on that show was probably the best experience we’re ever going to have in our careers, as far as creativity goes. Right now, reboots are the trend.”
30 Rock originally ran on NBC from 2006 – 2013. The series was based off Tina Fey’s experiences as head writer on Saturday Night Live and followed her as Liz Lemon, the head writer and producer for a live sketch show and the antics the cast, crew and management would get up to behind the scenes. Starring alongside Fey and Krakowski were Alec Baldwin, Tracy Morgan, Jack McBrayer, Scott Adsit and Judah Friedlander.
Krakowski currently stars in Netflix’s Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, which also co-created and co-written by Tina Fey.
